I got to visit this oasis with my family. I lived with Ken 20 years ago when these ideas were germinating. Well, he did have the garbage can with sawdust composting system started. But the eggs, worm castings, hydrological considerations, cobb, bees, and dinner plate sized nasturtium weren’t there. Now they are. Plus.
The New Earth Homestead made the family giddy. I wanted to eat the dirt. Ken Foster’s methods are a recipe for a post industrial earth healing!

I was just looking for this info for some time. After six hours of continuous Googleing, at last I got it in your website. I wonder what’s the lack of Google strategy that don’t rank this kind of informative sites in top of the list. Normally the top sites are full of garbage.

In the country where I come from these homesteads can be found in the cities pretty often, but the trend is opposite to what you’re encouraging…meaning these homesteads are disappearing

Great list! Lastly some business cards that I haven’t seen before! I think it’s a superior idea to have funny business cards to catch attention, but in my feeling it’s fantastic to have professional’ cards on hand too, just in case you run into somebody with little sensation of humor ;)

My programmer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using WordPress on various websites for about a year and am nervous about switching to another platform. I have heard fantastic things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can import all my wordpress posts into it? Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!|

Hi Peggy, This is very interesting and your experiments look fun. Puddles are transient and, if large enough, should be accounted for as you suggest. However, I think permanent’ but widely spaced moisture sources are more important, as we have discussed, and chief among them are lakes and riparian zones. We have that lake study from CASES 97 that never got analyzed. Maybe acceptance of my NASA proposal will allow a first look at riparian zones from historical aircraft data.
